Bhutan Honeymoon Itinerary (9 Days / 8 Nights)
Day 1: Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu
Fly into Paro International airport (stunning Himalayan views). Drive to Thimphu (1.5 hours). Welcome with traditional Bhutanese scarves (Khaddar) at the airport. Enroute visit Iron Bridge built by Thang Thong Gyalpo. Overnight: Thimphu
Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing
Visit Buddha Dordenma Statue (romantic panoramic views), National Memorial Chorten, Motithang Takin Preservation, Folk Heritage Museum. Evening: Couple’s hot stone bath experience.

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha (Via Dochu La Pass)
Drive over Dochu La pass (108 stupas, panoramic Himalayan views). Arrive in Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, walk across the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan.

Day 4: Punakha Valley Exploration
Hike to Khamsum Yueley Namgyel Chorten (gentle romantic hike). Picnic in rice terraces by the river or optional rafting adventure on Phochu. Evening: Candlelit dinner.

Day 5: Punakha – Phobjikha Valley (Gangtey)
Scenic drive to Phobjikha valley (3-4 hours). Visit Gangtey Monastery, nature walk through pine forests and wetlands. Dinner at cozy farmhouse by the fireplace.

Day 6: Phobjikha – Paro (Via Dochu La)
Return drive to Paro with breaks for tea/coffee and village stops. Leisure evening to explore Paro town.

Day 7: Paro Sightseeing
Visit Paro Dzong and National Museum (Ta Dzong). Explore Kyichu Lhakhang (romantic 7th century temple). Evening stroll around valley and dinner.

Day 8: Paro (Taktsang Monastery – Tiger’s Nest Hike)
Morning: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang), iconic Bhutan landmark (4-5 hours round trip, optional pony ride partway). Private honeymoon blessing ceremony at the monastery (if desired). Return to hotel for spa and hot stone bath. Farewell dinner with Bhutanese cultural dance show.
